Our comprehensive search includes searching the Canadian Trademarks database, Domain Name Registry, relevent business directories, as well as a preliminary search of the US trademarks database, and a written legal opinion on the registrability of your trademark.
Legal fees and government application fees will be invoiced by email, British Columbia residents are subject to 7% PST on legal fees, and GST where applicable will be charged.
Where:
- the Trademarks Office objects to the application (for reasons other than clarification of product and/or service descriptions) and therefore a substantive response is required, or
- the application is filed on the basis of an “intention” to use the trademark which requires the filing of a Declaration of Use (generally within 3 years from the date of application) indicating that use of the trademark has commenced,
an additional fee of $150 will be payable. Subject to these exceptions, no further legal fees are payable.
